Setting Up The Product Documentation Infrastructure
Context
As the first Product Documentation Specialist at Evention LLC my responsibility was to develop their entire documentation infrastructure for Tips+Gratuities and Total Reconciliation.
Opportunity
There was a considerable need for the creation and development of product documentation for their solutions.
Contribution
I approached this project by reviewing any documentation that was created by the Client Support team, Sales team, and/or Marketing team. I then began working with Product Managers of both solutions to get a better understanding of the features. This process entailed:
- Writing technical guides with a focus on the basic features of both solutions.
- Consulted with the Client Support team to gauge the type of calls received from clients.
- Improved documentation access by adding content into Coda, a content repository platform.
- Added value by adding general guide links to client Evention sites.
Impact
Took ownership by planning the layout of the documentation to ensure maximum understanding of Evention solutions for internal and external partners.
